Urban Ageing

This working group (WG) is dedicated to raise awareness and improve strategies for age-friendly environments in cities. By focusing on sharing good practices on active and healthy ageing, the cities work on preventing the pressure of demands of an ageing population. The group also aims to contribute with the cities’ perspective to the EU active and healthy ageing agenda.

In 2018, the group agreed on the following objectives:

  • to increase the engagement in ageing related EU projects (ESPON, relevant Horizon 2020 calls);
  • to continue the cooperation with WTO in the context of global network of age-friendly cities and communities, and strengthen the European memberships;
  • to actively contribute and involve in European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing;
  • to strengthen the capacity of the WG and attract new members.
